Kaitlyn & Dave | Southern Long Branch Plantation Wedding

October 18, 2018

I had been looking forward to capturing Kaitlyn and Dave’s wedding since their engagement session last fall. We actually took all of their engagement photos at their venue location, which was so fun and special. They brought their two dogs, which of course immediately made me love them. (Dog people are my kind of people!) These two are not only super photogenic, but also positive and kind, and so very in love! Kailyn and Dave have a solid friendship and love, but also act like they just fell in love yesterday! (Total newlywed vibe!) They share the most wonderful friends and family , who could not have been happier for them! In fact, everyone at the wedding was cheering all day long, and smiles and laughter were in abundance throughout the celebration. If I had one word to describe this wedding day it would be JOYFUL!

All of the details for the day were perfectly Southern. Magnolias, cotton and a classic black and white color scheme set the tone for this wedding. I can’t get enough of these!

Dave gave Kaitlyn a book of times he had made her smile, and she sat to read through it before putting on her dress. It was just so kind and sweet, and I’m sure she’ll treasure it for a lifetime!

Choosing to do a first look is such a time saver on a wedding day. But honestly that’s just the bonus. What’s truly special about it is that it gives the couple a private moment together before the chaos of the day begins. I always tear up during first looks, and this one was especially beautiful!

Because Magnolias were used all throughout the decor, it felt appropriate to take wedding party and family photos in front of this beautiful Magnolia tree at Long Branch!

We took a quick break in portraits to go see Kaitlyn’s reception vision brought to life by Dragonfly Events and Design. So classic and beautiful, and perfectly Southern!

One of my favorite spots for portraits is on the roof of the Long Branch House! The view of the gorgeous Virginia countryside at sunset is stunning!

Each time Kaitlyn and Dave entered a space, their friends and family erupted into cheers! It was the sweetest thing! Their reception introduction was one of my all time favorites.

Congratulations, Kaitlyn and Dave! I hope you are enjoying every minute of your honeymoon, and that you share a lifetime of the kind of joy that you experienced on your wedding day.
